Do Indians need a visa for Bali?
Yes — but it's simpler than most first-time travellers expect. Indian passport holders can apply for an Indonesian Visa on Arrival (VoA), which is valid for 30 days and extendable once for a further 30 days from any immigration office on the island. There's also an e-VoA option that lets you pay and pre-clear the paperwork online before you land, which is the route we recommend for anyone flying in during peak season.

Documents you'll actually need
Keep it simple: a passport valid for at least six months from your date of entry, a return or onward flight ticket, proof of accommodation for your stay, and enough funds to cover your trip. Immigration rarely asks to see all of this at the counter, but airlines do check before boarding, so have digital and printed copies ready.
What it costs and how long it takes
The e-VoA is paid in Indonesian Rupiah equivalent and processed within a couple of working days when applied for online in advance. Airport VoA counters are faster to use but get crowded around flights from Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, so budget an extra 30–45 minutes after landing during high season (June–August, December–January).
